Biography
History
Andrés Sendra is named by the Sendra company as the founder of the family boot firm that grew into Sendra. The company's own history page says more than 100 years and four generations separate him from his great-grandson, Francisco Javier Sendra, the current director and designer, who now leads a team of more than 170 specialists.
What began as a small family firm in Almansa, Albacete, Spain, grew into one of the world's best-known boot brands. The company says its factory now produces about 200,000 pairs a year through roughly 170 artisans and 250 manufacturing steps, including Goodyear welting. The company's page does not describe Andrés Sendra's own bench work or give a founding year — a commonly cited 1913 date does not appear on that page.
