Biography

History

Bo Lockhart is a custom cowboy bootmaker at Dorwart's Custom Boots in Guthrie, Oklahoma, working alongside shop owner Raymond "Ray" Dorwart. A September 2020 profile in 405 Magazine calls the two of them among the most prominent custom cowboy bootmakers in the United States.

Lockhart told the magazine he had been riding horses around Guthrie when a friend recommended he look up Dorwart, who set him on a four-month trial. His own account: "I started in April three years ago and he still ain't been able to run me out" — a line that places his start in April, roughly three years before the piece ran, without converting to a specific calendar year. The shop's boots at the time ranged from $1,500 to $3,000 or more, with orders arriving from as far as Canada and Japan.

A separate podcast page from June 2020 describes Lockhart as Dorwart's apprentice and cites different wait times and starting prices under the name "Lockhart Cowboy Customs"; those figures are kept separate from the magazine's numbers rather than merged.
