Biography
History
Carlos Quiroz is an Amarillo bootmaker at Beck Boots. KVII (30 January 2019) reports that Quiroz and business partner Jeremy Pool were both hired by Harry Beck, son of company founder Earl Beck, about fifteen years before that broadcast, and that Harry later sold them the business. Quiroz had learned leatherwork and shoemaking at age 12; he is quoted: “We learned this from Grandpa.” The small staff makes eight pairs a day, and the shop was reportedly invited to the White House for a Made in America showcase.
Brick & Elm (31 October 2025) gives a different timeline: it quotes Pool saying Harry hired him in 2009, and that Pool partnered with Quiroz — who had already been making boots with Harry for several years — when Pool bought the shop in 2016. The two accounts of exactly when Quiroz and Pool joined the business don’t agree. No birth year or birthplace survives for Quiroz.
