Biography

History

Charles Ross is an Amarillo bootmaker who, together with his brother Bob Ross, runs Western Leather Craft Boot Co. and Ross Boots, a family business their grandfather D.V. Ross is credited with starting after World War I. The brothers grew up making boots, and for years they made the boots worn by graduating seniors at Boys Ranch High School.

Their parents, Charlie and Neldehn Ross, had run the shop before them — Charles is not to be confused with his father, Charlie. As of a 2025 profile the brothers were training the next generation: Charles jokes that the business was fun until his son-in-law, Phil Baldner, who married into the family, got involved. No birth or death year for Charles has surfaced.
