Austin-Hall Boot Company was an El Paso bootmaking house named in Joe Nick Patoski’s June 2002 Texas Monthly “Next 25” list. The profile says the company was originally named the Joe Hall Boot Company and had been making boots for three generations by that point.
Its specialties included straightforward, basic designs, flashier styles on request, and made-to-measure “red flame” jobs, priced from $200 with a turn of about fourteen to sixteen weeks. Dwight Yoakam, WWF wrestlers, and NASA astronauts are named as clients. Joe Hall boots carry vintage 1964 ad plates under that earlier name.
