Biography

History

Bearl Beck, twin brother of Earl Beck, bought a boot shop in Dalhart, Texas, in 1916 and moved the business to Amarillo in 1921. The spelling "Bearl" is the one the company itself uses; Beck Boots' own history, a 2019 KVII news segment, and a June 2002 Texas Monthly profile all use that spelling and the same 1916 start date.

Beck Boots is the house the twins built; Earl Beck has his own record. No birth year, death year, or separate shop address for Bearl has been documented.
