Carlos Hernandez Jr. worked at Capitol Saddlery in Austin, Texas, where a 2002 profile in Texas Monthly called him “the other celebrated bootmaker” at the shop. He had already died by the time of that profile, and he was credited there as the teacher of Alberto “Gordo” Lozano. No birth year, death year, or style number for him has surfaced.
