Carson Leverett is a custom bootmaker and rancher in Amarillo who trained for six months under Edwin Martin in Las Animas before opening his own shop in 2013. Biography
History
Carson Leverett makes boots at Leverett Boots in Amarillo, Texas. According to Brick & Elm (31 October 2025), he was born into a farming and ranching family, graduated from Amarillo High School, and earned a degree in philosophy and audio engineering from Belmont University.
While pursuing graduate study at Abilene Christian University, he found a boot shop in Abilene and began working with Harry Beck of Beck Boots in 2011. Beck sent him to train with Edwin Martin in Las Animas, Colorado, where Leverett spent six months at E. P. Martin Boots.
Leverett opened his own shop on West Amarillo Boulevard in 2013. Each pair can take 40 to 100 hours, and the shop takes orders only once a year. He says he works a stitch pattern or other detail into each pair as a nod to Amarillo style.
