Chisos is an Austin-based direct-to-consumer cowboy boot brand founded by Will, who learned bootmaking in Mexico. Every pair is handcrafted by the same family-run workshop in Guanajuato, Mexico, using channel-welt construction and hand-lasting, with the workshop visited monthly. The line is organized by numbered styles, from the Chisos No. 1 through No. 7, plus the King Roper.
History
Chisos is a direct-to-consumer cowboy boot brand headquartered in Austin, Texas, with a short, numbered line of models (No. 1 through No. 7, King Roper, and others). According to the brand's own account, "The Chisos Story," founder Will learned bootmaking in Mexico and still works with the same family-run workshop in Guanajuato.
A company help article, updated 25 January 2023, confirms the boots are handcrafted in that Guanajuato workshop using in-house channel-welt construction and hand-lasting, with monthly visits from the Austin team. Austin functions as the design and retail headquarters; it is not where the boots themselves are built.
