Why collectors care

Corral is one of the most common Mexico-made fashion western labels on store shelves, especially women's boots with heavy embroidery, overlays, studs and inlays. The company calls itself “the creators of the western fashion boots.” That is a slogan, not a verified first.

Corral also runs a second label, Circle G. It is sold alongside the main line but carried its own trademark and uses its own style-number prefix. Circle G records are filed under Corral here.

Company history

Corral's official site says: “Since our establishment in 1999 Corral has been using age old craftsmanship techniques.” Its 25th-anniversary page opens its timeline with “1999 - Where it all began” and marks 2024 as the silver jubilee. The USPTO record for CORRAL BOOTS (Reg. No. 2582301, filed 4 August 2000, registered 18 June 2002, renewed) claims first use in commerce on 1 June 1999. The owner is Corral Boot Company, LLC, a Texas limited liability company at 6412 S 36th Street, Suite B, McAllen, Texas. A later mark, HANDCRAFTED CORRAL BOOTS (Reg. No. 6490700, registered 2021), is also live.

The same anniversary timeline says: “2006 - Joining forces with the CUADRA Group.” It also names a Denver showroom at the WESA exhibition center and a Dallas showroom opened in 2012. The site's Terms name the operating parties as “International Leather Company, L.L.C., Corral Boot Company, L.L.C., and/or its affiliated companies,” under Texas law. What the Cuadra partnership covers is not stated.

The Better Business Bureau lists Corral Boot Company at 3107 S. Closner Blvd., Edinburg, TX 78539. The official pages consulted do not say where the boots are made; retailer BootAmerica says they are “Handmade in León, Mexico.” A magazine claim naming Othell Welch as founder is not locked here.
