Biography
History
Cuca Sanchez is named in Texas House Resolution 1427 (84th Legislature, 2015) as the daughter-in-law of Yldefonso Sanchez, founder of the family's El Paso boot business. With her husband, Jose Lucas Sanchez, she expanded the company into western wear during the 1940s and 1950s.
Under their leadership the business grew to six locations and pioneered "repair while you wait" service. The resolution calls the Sanchez family leading custom cowboy bootmakers but does not describe Cuca's own bench work or give her a birth or death year. She is distinct from the later Caboots shop and from Champion Boot Co., both documented separately.
