Dan Trujillio was a bootmaker in Comanche, Texas, remembered as the teacher of Eddie Kimmel. Joe Nick Patoski's June 2002 Texas Monthly coverage says Kimmel learned the trade from ‘the late Dan Trujillio, another Comanche legend,’ and a companion piece from the same month lists him among veteran Texas bootmakers no longer living that spring.

No shop address, birth year, or death date for Trujillio has been found. Kimmel Boot Company's current site, which dates its own shop to 1980, does not retell the apprenticeship.
