Dennis Cottle made boots for working cowboys at Cottle’s Boot and Shoe Repair in Amarillo, Texas. Joe Nick Patoski’s June 2002 Texas Monthly list reports that he had been making boots since 1976, with prices from $550 and a turnaround of about ten to twelve months.
