Company history
The official history page names founder Héctor Guillermo Anaya Márquez and says the house has spent more than half a century making boots and botines for Mexico and the United States. The name honors El Canelo, a 1960s quarter-horse. The same page describes sixty expert hands on each pair.
The official homepage prints “Calidad desde 1967.” The Cámara de la Industria del Calzado del Estado de Guanajuato listing also dates the company to 1967, names lockstitcher and Goodyear-welt manufacture, and gives Calle Obreros 101C, Colonia Obrera, León. That card is dedicated to the memory of Héctor Guillermo Anaya Márquez.
Style América (August 2019) treated El Canelo as a second-generation family factory about fifty-two years old, with two collections a year, about 60,000 pairs annually, and a policy of exporting about half of production. The interview names Héctor Anaya Cornejo as representative. Those figures are press.
