History

J.D.L. Arroyo y Cía was a boot factory in Valverde del Camino, Spain. According to Corbeto’s Boots, it was the town’s first modern footwear factory, opening in 1912 as “J.D.L. Arroyo y CIA, Sociedad en Comandita,” with a daily output of 500 pairs of boots. Other factories followed, and by the 1930s the town had more than 80 of them — mechanical, partly mechanical, and manual — making campero boots.

Campero boots are distinguished from the later rociero boot, which Corbeto’s Boots credits to José Parreño Lineros rather than to this factory.
