Biography
History
Jojo McKibben is a bootmaking apprentice at Texas Traditions in Austin. In a 2019 interview she said her first teacher was her father, who made functional leather goods and built her chaps for riding bulls; her second teacher was Lee Miller, whom she credits with teaching her to generate a last from measurements and to make form follow function in what she calls a bespoke craft.
A 2022 profile of the shop lists her, at age 35, sewing heel slides on the crew. A 2019 Austin Chronicle photograph places her in the shop alongside Miller, his wife Carrlyn, Charlotte Marshall, Graham Ebner, and Dana Perrotti; Ebner's own 2019 interview names her as one of four apprentices alongside Marshall and Perrotti.
