History

Lane Boots was founded in 2007 by Patrick Lane, who had worked as a broker for another boot line before starting his own. A 2017 City of Arlington profile says the first pair of Lane Boots was designed and produced in 2009, and that the company is headquartered on Avenue G in Arlington, Texas, alongside two of Lane’s other businesses. The company says it set out to fix a lack of quality, comfort, and style in women’s boots, and its collection has grown to hundreds of styles.

In late 2013 Lane opened its own manufacturing facility. The company’s own history places that factory in León, Mexico, while the City of Arlington profile says the facility opened in Arlington; the brand’s product pages print “Handcrafted in León, Mexico.” This Lane is not connected to Wendy Lane Henry of Back at the Ranch.

The boots

Lane makes women’s Western boots, booties, and mules with a fashion bent: embroidery, studding, and inlays on traditional cowboy-boot shapes. The boots are known for their blue, or turquoise, soles; the company calls them its “blue bottoms.”
