Lee Miller · Identification
Construction / ID tells
- Shop era. Pairs finished after 1986 are Miller-shop authorship, not Charlie Dunn’s hand. Caption the shop era from paperwork.
- Motifs in sourced press. Texas Monthly 2002 names pinched or inlaid roses, prickly pear, and flashy flame tops as the workshop vocabulary. Those motifs are not a model number.
- Fully bespoke. There is no public SKU line. Miller interviews describe lasts built around the customer’s foot.
- Separate Austin shop. Heritage Boot Company is a different South Congress and León house.
Maker-specific markings guidance has not been documented yet. Preserve the complete stamp and compare it against dated sources.
