Liberty Boot Company is a Caborca Group León manufacturing label (rock/art western). Sister label Liberty Black is fashion-western / boho. One manufacturing house — not two artisan benches. Do not merge with Old Gringo (Yan Ferry people-credit only on the Liberty Boot Co. spine).

Origin and people credits

Parent house Botas Caborca began April 1978 (company history).

• Luis Torres Muñoz + sons Luis and José Manuel; early shop: 6 workers, 12 pairs/day; named for Caborca, Sonora; MX market first; US export 1986 (Caborca history).
• Caborca Group now cites 5 proprietary labels and 4 plants (company). Cowboys & Indians (2 May 2018): then 550+ employees, 7,000 pairs/week; owner cited Luis Torres Díaz (grandson).
• SAPICA 2016 lists Liberty Black, Liberty Biker, Liberty Boot Co., Caborca Boots, Caborca Silver among Caborca labels.
• Liberty Boot Co. (rock / art line): Bata Shoe Museum program (27 Aug 2025): Tony Benattar (Toronto) started an eponymous boot effort 1987; 1987–1993 in León with Yan Ferry, “Mike Llama” (Tony Lama grandson), and others; 1993 Yan + Tony founded Liberty Boot Company. Caborca LinkedIn: “since 1997.”
