Nocona: looking up a number
Keep all groups of numbers separate. Photograph the exact label and any STYLE heading. Some configurations encode toe and heel choices; do not interpret every four-digit group as a year. We have not verified a universal Nocona date-code rule.

Toe/heel configuration is not a date
A Nocona code discussion quoting a retailer guide describes a configuration ending in 403 as a #4 toe with a #03 heel. Preserve the full pattern and verify that the pair uses that system. The remaining digits should not automatically become a manufacture date or a skin identification.
Compare dated catalogs, labels, and maker responses for older pairs. A vintage Nocona dating discussion illustrates the limits of trying to read a year from every stamp.
A missing search result means the number is not documented here yet. It does not establish that the boots are counterfeit.
