Ramon Navarro · History
History
Ramon Navarro was the chief bootmaker at Capitol Saddlery in Austin, Texas. Scott Pendleton’s Christian Science Monitor profile (8 May 1992) says he had worked there 21 years, the first six alongside Charlie Dunn. A pair took him 18 hours to complete, with a three-month backlog; customers stood on blank pages of the order book so he could trace the outline of their feet.
Handmade boots at the shop started at $500, with pending orders from as far as Illinois, New England, and France. No birth year, hometown, or start year survives for Navarro.
