Lillard Lawton “Shorty” Golden (b. 30 Sep 1926 Coryell County; WWII Army staff sergeant) started boots 1949 at Ray Jones Shop in Lampasas, briefly Montana, then Temple, then Golden Boot Shop in Belton for 40+ years; d. 2014. Documented pair (Art of the Boot): vintage, possibly 1960s; made at Golden Boot Shop, Belton — ornate toe flower; distinct tongue; fancy top stitch; white beading; working cowboy silhouette. Blue Ariat panels in the Art of the Boot carousel are shaft shapers (inserts), not part of the boots — ignore for maker ID.
