Why collectors care

Stallion is the El Paso luxury-exotics house collectors meet in high-end retail and on the secondary market. They need the correct founding year, founding craftsmen credits, pegged construction vs cemented fashion boots, and a way to separate ivory/exotic spectacle from working boots.

Brand and Illume (19 Apr 2018) date founding to 1980 (Urban Cowboy–era; Muñoz about 23, borrowed about $2,000). A 2000 date would collapse Stallion into the post-2000 revival cohort and erase the founding craftsmen.

Origin spine

• Childhood boots: Zaragoza / Sierra Madre ranch; age-five first pair (brand biography).
• 1974: First custom with Mr. Martinez (Juárez) — a people credit, not a second maker page.
• ~1979–80: Partners Jose Gallegos and Plutarco Rodriguez → Stallion Boot & Belt Co. Muñoz as designer/owner (“conductor”); artisans execute.
• High-end designed custom niche vs El Paso volume factories (Illume).
• About 20 artisans; about 40–70 pairs/week in Illume 2018 / brand / retail language; 140+ hand steps basic / 200+ intricate — operational color, not authenticity proof alone.
