Tex Robin · Identification & Dating
Construction / ID tells
- Top art vocabulary: Prickly-pear / cactus spine stitch motifs; butterfly inlays; eagle inlays; bright multi-color shaft work.
- Restraint pairs exist: Dimlights notes killer inlays or simple one-row stitch — both can be Tex Robin. Absence of cactus does not disprove the maker.
- One-man architecture: Expect handmade custom construction; inspect welt, pegs, and heel stack on the pair.
- Marks: Shop labels / handwritten tickets / “Tex Robin” marks on documented pairs.
- Scarcity after 2023: Secondary-market pairs have grown harder to find.
Maker-specific markings guidance has not been documented yet. Preserve the complete stamp and compare it against dated sources.
