Identifying a pair

• Date the pair before trusting the label. A Wrangler boot from a 1970s catalog and a licensed pair from 2021 or later share a brand name, not a maker.
• Use the catalog records. Match 1970s pairs by model name and retailer SKU, as in the Sheplers 1976 records. Sheplers B6 numbers are retailer catalog numbers, not factory stamps.
• Keep every marking. Record the full lining stamp, country of manufacture, and any box or hangtag. No source found so far documents a Wrangler boot style-number or date-code system, so do not decode one.

Documentation limits
