Accessibility at Western Boot World

Our commitment

Western Boot World should work for everyone who loves boots, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard alone, magnification, voice control, or a switch. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA across the site, and we treat accessibility problems as bugs.

What we have done

The site uses semantic HTML with landmarks, headings, and labelled form controls; a skip-to-content link; visible keyboard focus and keyboard access to menus, dialogs, filters, and the games; live regions for status messages; text alternatives for meaningful images and empty alt text for decorative ones; respect for your reduced-motion and color-scheme preferences; text that resizes with your browser settings; and a Spanish interface for every fixed string on the site. Dusty, our AI assistant, can be used by text as well as by voice.

Known limitations

Some content is written by members, so listing photos and Saloon images may lack useful descriptions, and member-written text is not translated. The Shootout game is a timed, pointer-driven arcade game and does not have a fully equivalent keyboard or screen-reader mode; the daily word and picture games do. Third-party services we embed or link to (Google sign-in, Google Fonts, our analytics vendor if you allow it) follow their own accessibility practices. We are working through these and welcome reports.

Tell us what is not working

If any part of the site is hard or impossible for you to use, email support@westernbootworld.com with the page, what you were trying to do, and the browser and assistive technology you use. We respond within five business days and will offer the information or service another way while we fix the underlying problem.
