James Leddy Boots (Abilene)
Texas Monthly 2002 treated James Leddy as its own Abilene royalty — nephew of M.L. Leddy — with family bench labor and specialties including flowery tops, old-fashioned crimped vamps, zipper tops, and sharp pointed toes. James died 2003; Al & Deborah Dos Santos bought the shop in 2008 and continue the name. On the secondary market “Leddy” collides San Angelo, Fort Worth, and Abilene — this page is the Abilene shop, not M.L. Leddy. James built in Abilene from 1937; “since 1922” is M.L.’s founding year used as heritage language.
