Justin is the highest everyday encounter rate on the shelf. Collectors need geography eras, ownership eras, Roper vs dress vs later lines, and the distinction between the company and its founder in the H.J. Justin person card.

Justin began in Spanish Fort in 1879, moved to Nocona around 1889, and relocated to Fort Worth in 1925.

• 1879: Spanish Fort shop (repair → custom).
• ~1889: Move to Nocona for railroad shipping (1887–89 soft conflict — flag).
• 1890s: Annie + Joe self-measuring kit scales mail-order (person-page craft credit).
• 1908: H.J. Justin & Sons.
• 1918: H.J. dies; children continue.
• 1925: Brothers → Fort Worth; Enid stays → Nocona.
• ~1950: John Justin Jr. control; national “Standard of the West” marketing solidifies here — do not treat that motto as an 1879 sole mark.
• 1968–72: First Worth / Acme Brick merge → Justin Industries (1972).
• 1981 Nocona; 1984/85 Chippewa (year soft conflict); 1990 Tony Lama.
• 2000: Berkshire Hathaway, about $600M / $22 tender (NYT / Berkshire). Justin Brands continues with Justin, Nocona, Tony Lama, Chippewa.
