“Olathe” on a modern pair is not the same corporate entity as C.H. Hyer’s Olathe, Kansas factory — yet the brand markets a continuous craft story back to 1875. Ben Miller closed the Olathe plant in 1978; in 2001 Western Leather Goods (Rios of Mercedes / Anderson Bean) acquired Olathe Boot Company assets and consolidated production in Mercedes.
