Horse Power
Horse Power is part of the Rios of Mercedes Family of Brands. It launched in 2005 as the family's first line built outside the USA, and its official About page says it was designed to meet demand for the Anderson Bean look at a lower price. It later added woven and patchwork styles, HP Work steel-toe boots and the exotic HP Top Hand Collection.

Why collectors care
Horse Power is not an Anderson Bean sub-label. It is a separate brand in the Rios of Mercedes Family of Brands, and its official About page says it was first designed to offer “the iconic style of our Anderson Bean brand at a more affordable price point.” Retailers often list it as “Horse Power by Anderson Bean.”
Anderson Bean boots are made in Mercedes, Texas. The official family history says Horse Power is built in Guanajuato, Mexico. Keep the Mexico-made line separate from Mercedes-made Anderson Bean when you identify a pair.
Company history
The official Rios Family of Brands history says: “Horse Power was launched in 2005, followed by Macie Bean in 2007. Both brands are built in Guanajuato, Mexico and offer a well-built boot at an affordable price.”
Horse Power's About page calls it “our first line of boots to be built outside the USA,” and says the line “soon developed an identity purely its own with styles showcasing elements like woven leather and patchwork vamps.” It has since added HP Work, described as ASTM-certified steel-toe work boots, and the HP Top Hand Collection of exotic leathers.
The brand's contact page prints a Mercedes, Texas post-office box. A retailer blog names a León factory partner; the official history does not name a Horse Power factory, so that is not locked here.
