Why collectors care

Sanders is a discontinued El Paso boot manufacturing name that collectors still meet on vintage exotic and western pairs, often marked Made in Mexico. The open record is thin beyond trademark filings and surviving stamps. No founder biography is locked here.

This page is a manufacturing company card. Corporate seat on the original USPTO filing was El Paso. That address is not automatic proof of the factory floor on every pair.

Company history

Sanders Boot Makers, Inc. of El Paso registered the SANDERS word mark for men’s and ladies’ boots (USPTO serial 73405123). The filing claims first use in commerce on 30 December 1968. The application was filed 7 December 1982 and registered 10 July 1984.

Ownership later transferred to Westmoor Bootmakers, Inc. of Fort Worth, the same Westmoor family that owns the Panhandle Slim apparel mark. The Sanders trademark was cancelled under Section 8 on 16 April 2005. Surviving pairs are vintage.

Secondary-market discussion often treats Sanders as a well-made, true-to-size western boot, frequently in exotic skins, and less advertised than Justin or Tony Lama peers. That collector consensus is not a factory catalog.
